The Tale of Two Tiny Mice

Perseverance pays off

Two tiny mice one day find themselves in a bit of a pickle - they fall into a bucket of cream.

The first mouse takes a look at the creamy situation, throws in the towel, and sadly, that was the end of his tale.

The second mouse. Instead of waving the white flag, this little fella decides,

"Hey, I'm not going down without a fight."

So, he starts paddling, churning, and giving that cream a serious workout.

Now, it wasn't a cakewalk. Oh no, this mouse had to hustle. He struggled, he kicked, and he churned so hard that - bam! The cream started magically transforming into butter.

And guess what? Our tenacious mouse doesn't stop there; he uses the buttery goodness as a stepping stone to crawl right out of that bucket.

Now, what's the deal with this creamy escapade? It's a tale of not giving up when life gets a bit thick (pun intended).

The first mouse took the easy route, surrendered to the cream, and, well, didn't make it.

But our second mouse? He showed us the power of a little elbow grease, determination, and a refusal to quit.

When life feels like a bucket of cream, don't throw in the towel. Start churning. You never know, you might just end up with a bit of butter and a great story to tell.

Keep hustlin' like that second mouse.

There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results.

First Who, Then What

Collins emphasizes the importance of getting the right people on board before determining the direction of the company.

He argues that great companies focus on getting the right people in key positions first, and then collectively determining the strategy.

The success of a company is deeply tied to the caliber of its people.

Once the right people are in place, the company is better equipped to adapt to changing circumstances and align its strategy with the collective strengths and insights of the team.

● We say 'sleep like a baby,' but anyone who's been around a baby knows they wake up every two hours crying!

● Technically, we are all time travelers, moving forward at the rate of one second per second.
